Hello New Hampshire
New
Hampshire Crossroads producer Chip Neal guides us on a journey
that starts at the 1999 Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington,
D.C., where more than 140 traditional New Hampshire artists, musicians,
and craftspeople shared their talents and the state's cultural
legacy with hundreds of thousands of visitors on the National
Mall. The journey continues back in the Granite State with the
restaging of the event the following summer at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
Hello, New Hampshire captures the essence
of New Hampshire through the Smithson Institution's research for
these two events. It highlights New Hampshire's traditional music;
its farms, forests, mountains and sea; its seasons of work and
recreation; its homes, towns, and communities; as well as its
ingenuity and enterprise.
