Host Bob Wilson travels the roadways of New England looking for a complete stranger, someone unafraid to take him somewhere new, show him something different, and tell him their story. However, they must find him. Bob sets up a roadside stand, waiting for people to stop and tell him their story. The camera crew is hidden and Bob sits and waits. It all starts and ends on the road, and in between are their Roadside Stories.
Bob Wilson has been in television for 20 years. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and three young kids. Their favorite thing to do together as a family is hiking in the White Mountians.

Season 1
Episode 101
Bob meets cow
In Mystic, Connecticut, to know a man is to walk a mile in his shoes...that is if you can keep up with him. Host Bob Wilson meets a retired couple that has been race walking around America, competing in marathons. After walking Bob into the ground, they kayak out to Long Island Sound where they show him an environmental tragedy. Sunken boats rot along the shoreline, leaking oils and contaminates into the water.
Episode 102
In Bedford, New Hampshire, Gary grows his own vegetables, bakes his own bread and rides his bike five hours a day. He enjoys the simple things in life ever since doctors found a tumor the size of a lemon growing in his brain. After his bike ride he takes host Bob Wilson back to his house to show how he roasts coffee in a home made rig. Then we meet a father and daughter team who travel around New England playing in a Celtic band.
Episode 103
In Rye, New Hampshire, Jo Jo stops at the roadside stand on his way home from work. He's a nuclear engineer on a submarine, but that's just his day job. On Friday nights he runs the chains at the high school football game. Host Bob Wilson gets an unexpected front row seat as he helps Jo Jo work the sidelines.
Episode 104
Nate found host Bob Wilson at a car wash in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He's a young landscaper who works out of his car and he knows his plants. He takes Bob to a job site where they both get down and dirty and explore the inside of a new high tech home. From a waterfall on the wall to a swimming pool in the bedroom, this house has it all – including great plants!
Episode 105
Jason the chimney sweep finds host Bob Wilson in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. He swept Bob off his feet and up onto the roof. There, Jason tells us how he fell down 32 feet to the ground. Then Bob meets Dave in Groton, Connecticut. He’s kicking a heroine habit and stops at the roadside stand on his way home from the methadone clinic. Dave’s story starts behind bars and turns into an honest to goodness jailbreak.
Episode 106
In Meredith New Hampshire, we drill a hole, bait a hook and start fishing for a woman? It’s a pick -up line you won’t forget for a love story on ice. This couple has been married 20 years. Then, go snowmobiling in a 1922 Model-T Ford and meet a man who takes host Bob Wilson deep into the woods to throw some paint.
Episode 107
In North Conway, New Hampshire host Bob Wilson piles into a mini van with three kids, two dogs and a mom who lives in an old train station. Her house is also her office. Wait until you see what she does for work. Then, Bob ‘meats’ a Rhode Island man who shows him the sights and sounds of sausage. Bob gets hip-deep and hands-on in Toney’s basement stuffing pig intestines while listening to stories about hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Episode 108
A Rhode Island woman stops at the roadside stand looking for her lost dog, and ends up telling host Bob Wilson how she was the target of a terrorist attack in Lebanon. She was working at her family business when someone planted a bomb by the door. She lets her scars tell the miracle of survival. Then, a firefighter stops for Bob on his way to help a friend move a pile of dirt. Every shovel counts as old man winter turned the pile of dirt into a mound of ice.
Episode 109
Don’t feed the bears! They may end up at your house. With black bear sightings at an all time high, it’s Paul Rego’s job to count the population in Connecticut. Host Bob Wilson goes on a walk in the woods with him as he tranquilizes a mother to count her cubs. Then it's on to Southwick, Massachusetts where Bob helps with a good, old fashioned, family, barn raising.
Episode 110
Courtney stops at the roadside stand in Maine on her way to the hairdresser. Host Bob Wilson joins her in the chair to hear her story and meets Dean the stylist. He has worked in Alaska cleaning up the Exxon Valdese oil spill, but can he teach Bob how to cut and color? Then, we join John on the job in Ogunquit, Maine as this carpenter builds an open-air market and café.
Episode 111
A couple in Moultonborough, New Hampshire stops at the roadside stand to tell host Bob Wilson their love story. It was love at first sight when John stopped to help her change a flat tire. Now they are headed to the altar. Then, John tells us how he lost it all - his family, a high paying job and ended up living in an abandoned car on the streets. But he has turned his life around and now heads up a homeless shelter in North Hamden, Massachusetts.
Episode 112
A novelist, who is also a composer, stops by the roadside stand to spin a yarn. It turns out he has a giant pipe organ inside his house. It’s a good thing he lives way out in the country in Appleton, Maine. Then after a long day by the side of the road in Camden, Maine host Bob Wilson ends up in a barn with a dog groomer. She specializes in standard poodles and they are more than the sum of their parts.
Episode 113
Two college girls on spring break invite host Bob Wilson along on their tour of the Maine seacoast. They hunt for crabs, look for moose and go hiking in Camden. Along the way Bob learns about tall ships, faith and “Hank” a life saving device for diabetics. Then, Bob tags along with a retired schoolteacher who used to dodge gang members on the way to her classroom in Harlem.
Season 2
Episode 201
Host Bob Wilson meets a Meredith, New Hampshire man who sculpts trees with a chain saw. Then Robin from Alaska stops by the roadside stand while she is in town visiting her family at Newfound Lake. Robin takes Bob back to her cottage where she sets up her potter’s wheel to him a lesson on throwing clay. She quit her job at a law firm 17 years ago to open up her own potters shop.
Episode 202
Host Bob Wilson takes to the air in a hot air balloon to view the fall colors of Southington Connecticut. Then, a woman stops by the roadside stand and tells Bob how she survived breast cancer. They go back to her house to see her amazing garden and cook a meal from the foods she has harvested.
Episode 203
Host Bob Wilson takes to the treetops of Vermont with ropes and safety harnesses. This isn't tree climbing like you remember! Then Bob meets a commercial fisherman in Connecticut whose wife has a dangerous form of pneumonia. After a visit to the hospital the fisherman goes to sea to find solace.
Episode 204
Host Bob Wilson meets 77-year-old Gin by the side of the road in Rhode Island. She takes Bob back to her house and puts him to work. They split wood, fix her roof and build a bird house all before lunch. Then, a New Hampshire woman does some heavy lifting and her story lands them at the dump!
Episode 205
Host Bob Wilson veers from the road and out onto the ice of Lake Winnipesauke. Bob is at the helm of the biggest ship on the lake, but first he’ll have to wait for the ice to melt before Captain Leo can teach him how to guide the Mount Washington from port to port.
Episode 206
Roadside Stories is one year old and 60 stories strong. Host Bob Wilson looks back at some of the people who stopped by the roadside stand to share a bit of their lives, including a woman who was nearly killed when a terrorist blew up her store with a suitcase bomb and a man with a bear stuck in his tree. Never-before-seen clips will be unveiled, although they should probably have stayed on the cutting room floor…
Episode 207
Who knew the National Toboggan races were in Camden, Maine? Well, Jonathan knows and he’s on his way there with Roadside Stories host, Bob Wilson. Together, they travel to Downeast Maine for a sled ride, and then back to his winery in Winterport, where this food writer is always looking for the next best edible editorial.
Episode 208
Join host Bob Wilson as we flash back in time to the '60s with Stephen. He stops at the roadside stand in Rhode Island in his Volkswagen thing. He has nine more at home. Bob joins him for a harmonica jam session and looks at his car collection as Stephen tells stories of years gone by.
Episode 209
Drum roll please.... Roadside Stories host Bob Wilson heads to Madison, Connecticut to join the Landcraft Fife and Drum Corps for a parade. The sticks are flying as Bob tries his hand at the big bass drum. Then, Carol stops by the roadside stand and takes Bob to her high-end pet boutique. Bob samples dog food and pampers a 140-pound Newfie (Newfoundland) named Murphy.
Episode 210
A paralyzed New Hampshire athlete trades in his wheelchair for a much faster set of wheels as Roadside Stories host Bob Wilson goes to the race track. This one-of-a-kind program lets people with disabilities get behind the wheel of a real NASCAR and learn what it's like to light their hair on fire. Then, a mother stops by the roadside stand to tell Bob about the life and death decision her family had to make in the delivery room when their first child was born.
